Adapted from a true story, this film is set in an American high school campus during Minor Cold. It tells the story of a 17-year-old girl who was studying abroad when her grandfather suddenly passed away from a cerebral infarction in her hometown. Trapped by a heavy snowstorm, she couldn't return home and missed the last chance to see her grandfather.

The story interweaves important memories of the girl with her grandfather from her childhood: watching her grandfather paint plum blossoms, learning to paint from him, trying to paint plum blossoms herself, and then leaving her hometown to study art abroad alone. At the same time, it outlines the story line of the grandfather missing his granddaughter alone at home. From the panic and helplessness when she first encountered the snowstorm and faced death and separation, the girl gradually made peace with loneliness and sorrow. Finally, she bowed three times towards her hometown from afar to bid her final farewell to her grandfather, continuing his wishes in a gentle way and completing the inheritance of culture and longing.

In the end, at the end of the film, the girl returns to her hometown and sorts out the relics left by her grandfather. In one of the diaries, she finds a plum blossom she casually drew on her exercise book when she was a child, which had long been cherished by her grandfather in the diary. As Minor Cold ends, the ice and snow melt, spring arrives, and life ushers in a new inheritance.
