Inspiration:

The core inspiration stems from three sources:

First, the art of Salvador Dalí, whose “melting clock” from The Persistence of Memory became a pivotal symbol representing the breaking of constraints.

Second, Surrealism, a movement originating in the 1920s (marked by Breton's Surrealist Manifesto, influenced by post-WW1 anti-rationalism and Freud's unconscious theory)—is reflected in the script's spirit of shattering reality's boundaries to uncover truth.

Third is dystopia, inspired by Huxley's Brave New World.
